I provide counselling and mental health support in Bangor, Gwynedd. I provide a warm and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We work together as a team through what is challenging you (past, present, or future), how it is impacting you now, and explore what needs to happen for you to achieve your goals.
I am an integrative therapist which means I have training in person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioural therapy, and can use one or all of these to support you in the most effective way. I believe everyone is different and so requires different approaches to therapy. Therefore, I will always uniquely tailor the way I work with individuals to ensure you receive the best possible support.
I am a Christian and believe everyone is deserving of good mental health support. I provide all my clients with unconditional acceptance and encouragement as I believe everyone is deserving of excellent mental health support. I believe that a safe space to work through challenges with someone you trust is essential for growth and development. Therefore, I will always try to make you feel comfortable and secure in our sessions together.
Some of my interests include open water swimming, being out in nature for walks, and being creative through painting and drawing. I also enjoy dance which I found out and developed a passion for at university. I have carried this on since graduating at a local dance class and think it is a great way to grow in confidence, learn new things, and keep your body moving.
I also have been engaging in more mindfulness practice and sometimes do this with clients in sessions. This can be breathing exercises, visualisation, and progressive muscle relaxation. I also like to incorporate art into mindfulness and recognise the amazing positive effects art and creative expression can have on mental health.
I am a Christian and serve actively in my local church. I draw on my faith in all aspects of life including my work as a counsellor, specifically applying the unconditional love and radical acceptance displayed by Jesus.
